PUT ON A PLAY!

GRADES 2-5 • JESSE STEINMETZ, CHRISTINE MITCHELL, JANELLE ANNE ROBINSON

Join us in this three-part series that takes you through the exciting process of putting on an original play. What will your characters say? Where will they travel and who will they meet? Writer Jesse Steinmetz will help you create stories and characters for an original play. Then, artist Christine Mitchell will guide you on how to make a set for your play. You will work in large-scale painting to explore how color, shape, and lines can make your story more dynamic. Finally, Janelle Anne Robinson leads you through theatre games to help you find your voice and bring your characters to life – costumes included! Together you rehearse and refine your acting skills and learn what it means to be part of a true theatre ensemble. The premiere of your original play will be for family and friends.
