MIGHTY WRITERS

GRADES 3-5

Prose explains, poetry sings, stories evoke! In Mighty Writers, students discover the magic of expressing themselves with words. Teaching artists guide students in identifying feelings and observations about both their inner thoughts and the world around them while synthesizing them into a variety of writing styles. A playful classroom allows students to get curious, ask questions, test boundaries, and begin to sculpt their unique voice, choosing words and compositions for their sounds and beauty as well as their meaning. Students who practice writing from the senses learn how to share authentically with their reader and find a connection with their world, with each other and with written, spoken and aural language.
