ANGIE SILVERSTEIN

Angie wants to facilitate her students’ curiosity, so they can discover their talents that they have within themselves. At ASAP!, she is a committee member for the Frank McCourt teacher selection prize, a writing workshop facilitator with children from Torrington, a speech coach for the selected students who perform their poetry for the Young Writers event in June and a film editor for promos of ASAP! events that are featured on their website.  She also works as a teacher and improv coach at Newport Academy, a residential facility that provides teens and their families with care and treatment for mental health issues. She believes that each child needs the love and attention required to help them achieve their highest potential academically, socially and spiritually, and the arts are a wonderful tool to create confidence within every child.
