THEATER ARTS TRACK WITH SAVE GIRLS ON F.Y.E.R

YSANNE MARSHALL AND KIMOLEE ERYN

Theater Arts Track program with Save Girls on F.Y.E.R and asap!

Art & Theater Track participants work with the Save Girls on F.Y.E.R. team to build self-empowerment tools, advocacy skills, and leadership traits throughout the year. Meanwhile, an experienced ASAP! teaching artist leads an intensive course in theater arts. Students experience the many essential roles that go into a production including acting, directing, writing, and producing on a professional stage, while building a personal connection with theater as an art medium. Field trips to a local theater production and a Broadway musical are opportunities to see how others use theater as a medium for liberation and activism. A summer theater intensive kicks off the creation of an original theater piece which is performed for family, friends, and the Waterbury Community. This incredible track offers a structured format for young women of color to explore interests, amplify their voices, and develop leadership skills.

This program culminates in a final sharing at Seven Angels Theatre in November.
