VILLAGE PROJECT

GRADES 3-12

The Village Project brings together communities from across Connecticut to express personal and universal aspirations of home and community. On display at the Mattatuck Museum, the sprawling exhibition arranges thousands of tiny clay homes into magical villages, with intricate vine sculptures suspended above. The collaborative endeavor, led by artists Don Bracken and Denise Minnerly and created by community members of all ages and experiences, illustrates the intertwined nature of community and individual identity. The newest addition to the exhibition was created by Waterbury students in grades 2-12.
