Summer Photography Intensive

Master 35mm cameras, develop film, and create prints in Hartford Art School’s professional darkroom! No digital shortcuts—just authentic, hands-on photography the traditional way.

Spend your summer mastering the art of analog photography in a real university darkroom. Learn to shoot with film cameras, develop your own negatives, and create finished prints with your own hands. Through a combination of hands-on instruction from HAS professors plus independent working time, you’ll develop your artistic eye while getting a taste of art school life on a college campus. The culminating exhibition is an opportunity to showcase your best work in a professional gallery exhibition—a real portfolio piece for college applications!
