PAINTING WITH EMIDA

Grades 9-12 • EMIDA ROLLER

9-12th graders join muralist Emida Roller to create aspirational portraits and large scale inspirational paintings for their school community. Students use sketching and open dialogue to come up with themes, palettes and messages in the style of ‘Hope’ by artist Shepard Fairey. After developing their concepts, Emida guides the students in composition, brushwork, and color mixing, for their artwork on polytab, a special surface for large-scale painting.
