ASAP! welcomes incoming Executive Director Ali Psomas

Dear Friends, Supporters, and Partners,

After ten incredible years as Program Director at ASAP!, I’m honored to step into the role of Executive Director. This transition marks the beginning of a new chapter. One rooted in gratitude, fueled by purpose, and inspired by the people who make our work so meaningful.

Throughout my time at ASAP!, I’ve been privileged to lead programs that center the students and invite them to learn through the creative process. Programs that spark joy, and create access for young people across Connecticut. As Executive Director, I look forward to continuing this work while also building deeper relationships with our donors and partners. With the support of a passionate team and a dedicated Board of Directors, I am eager to sustain and grow ASAP!’s reach.

As Executive Director, I believe when we center children and engage them through arts-infused learning, their strengths emerge and so does their joy for learning. This is education with ASAP!: where curiosity is ignited, creativity is nurtured, and every child grows with courage and purpose.

At the heart of this vision is a belief that we are all creators with the capacity to imagine, shape, and transform the world around us. Together with our staff, board, partners, and communities, we will provide programs that elevate young people and advance educational equity.

I would not be here without the mentorship of JoAnne Torti, our remarkable founder, who has shaped ASAP! with vision, heart, and grace. Her leadership has had a profound impact on me, not just professionally, but also as a woman and a human being. I carry her lessons with me as I take on this new responsibility, and I remain committed to honoring the foundation she built while courageously guiding us forward.

I look forward to connecting with long-time supporters and meeting new friends along the way. Please don’t hesitate to reach out, stop by, or join us at a program or event. There is so much joy in what we do, and we want you to be part of it.

Thank you for believing in the power of arts-infused education. Thank you for believing in ASAP!.

With deep gratitude and courage,

Ali Psomas
