WE RISE

Middle schoolers explore social justice topics and activism through film, visual art, and storytelling in alignment with their academic studies. Led by artist and film producer Kimolee Eryn, We Rise is rooted in the idea that amplifying student voices allows them to see and act on their capacity for making change. With Kimolee’s guidance, students will choose meaningful and relevant topics to study and process their learning through art-making and a field trip. A culminating event will showcase student work and engage family members through a panel discussion. This opportunity to talk about their experiences and further delve into their ideas will strengthen their community ties and engender a sense that their voices matter.
